Oh GAWSH I LOVED IT. Discord was awesome, and I agree that despite being reformed, he isn't ruined. It opens up several plot ideas (at least for me it does) and adds a whole new dimension to his character. I mean, what if he still has that evil side to him and it decides to show itself again? Drama... >:3
It could be better if it was a 2-parts episode. I'm still trying to understand how the hell Discord was reformed so quickly. Not saying Fluttershy isn't best pony able to do something like this, it's just... c'mon, Discord went from "the eternal master of chaos" to a "baby, I'm so lonely" thing in two seconds. (obvious referrence to this: [link])
That just confirm to myself what i was afraid of: I was the whole time overestimating his "badassness".
As many people have said, I felt the pacing was sort of off. I honestly think they could have just cut out the whole scene in the beginning with Applejack and Fluttershy with the beaver. We already know that Fluttershy is good with animals, and it doesn't seem necessary to show that beavers could flood Sweet Apple Acres. That time could have been better spent with character development, I would think.
I'm also hoping that they don't change Discord's character too much. Being random and hilarious is what makes him enjoyable, and he can still be those things without causing harm to others. I'm wondering if he'll be helpful in defeating a big enemy later on (teamed up with the Mane 6, Celestia, Luna AND Cadence would be pretty epic).
Like many, I thought Discord's development into a (potential) ally was rushed and the climax kind of fizzled with me. It would have been nice to see another 2-parter; maybe even with the majority of his powers being sealed away. He went from being a godlike fiend to being a gradeschool bully in the blink of an eye. I am somewhat disappoint. But I was pleased with Fluttershy throughout the episode. She stayed true to her character, even as her friends played the antagonists. Overall: Average. But with a good lesson to learn: To have a friend, you have to be a friend. yay!
I don't think it was bad - only rushed into one episode, that's what is the problem imo. It should be two-parter which would allow for more developement. Again for me it was good episode, but it's apparent for me that it had the permise to be better. then again having Fluttershy centric episode is nothing bad - she had some really nice moments
I have mixed opinions about this episode, I feel as though they tried to fit in what would have looked like a good story into one episode, and I just dont see why it took them 2 weeks to air it. Discord was awesome and also cute when we found out all he wanted was a friend. I must admit I am not a big fan of Fluttershy but she did have a good role in this episode. It makes me wonder though, what this episode might lead to I have a feeling the next few and going to be related with Discord and the elements, after all there are oonly 3 episodes left of the series, as far as I have heard
I think they had a problem with the voices. Remember, some characters only appear 1 time and then never more. And if the "voice" of Discord had an illness ... well, you maybe know how a person sounds with a cold.
It was a really cute and interesting story, and I'm impressed they decided to do it. But, as I'm sure is the case with many of these critiques, it was just rushed.
The majority of the episode was spent with Discord just trying to make a fool of Fluttershy, and it was done well. But when her friendship with him was introduced, it started to totally screw up the equilibrium of the episode. In roughly 10 minutes' time, he was like "*She actually likes me?" Then suddenly he was back to "Go f*ck yourselves, ponies!" And then, in one quick headspin, he was just all "I'm so sorry! Can you forgive me?!" The crap, Discord?!
If they'd saved it for the season finale, and done it in two episodes, it probably would have been a really good story. But as is, it's an interesting plot that was just hastily jumbled together, and weakly executed.

i liked the concept, and how Fluttershy was all awkward about this task. I just like the ending, out of nowhere yes, should've used one minute to develop it a bit but all the same. i love how he bites back his words.
It's an episode that really needed a full hour. The setup took almost half the time, while the ending felt rushed, and incomplete. Discord being Discord was great, as expected, and I enjoyed how the writers handled Fluttershy. Whether the direction the episode went is a good one is up for debate, but either way, the concept is something that's difficult to make it convincing with such short a time. As it stands, anything above average would've exceeded expectations, and sadly, it didn't.
i always knew this would be controversial from when it finished, but honestly it was a VERY original idea to COMPLETELY turn round the series equivalent of satin (in a series where it is near impossible to murder or brutally hurt turning friends on one other is PURE evil) i did not see this coming and i like that.
yep as others have said this opens redemption for other villas like sumbra and cyrstalis and one i kind of want the flim and flam (more so flam)
discord was true to character being a ass for most of the plot so i disagree it ruined him in fact he looks set to do more chaos later on bound to fun.
I enjoy thinking of Discord as Star Trek's "Q" (same actor and what not) so, I think this makes him even more along those lines. It gives the show a great plot driving character and it opens up a chance for better future story lines and bigger picture stories.
I loved it because it had Discord, and any Discord is good Discord. But I felt the end was a bit abrupt. Even a couple more seconds of Discord pausing to consider what he had said would have been a huge improvement.
But I still loved the episode. Discord's interactions with Angel Bunny were hilarious!
