though call after all the other Hasbro franchise "transformers" has the SAME characters in all there series BUT it has be "rebooted" many times.
same is true with other franchises "star trek" being one with "next generation" as a example series.
my theory gos as follows it might make it to 6 possibly more (if they insist on the 14 ep seasons) but indeed as pointed out there is only so long in which you can keep sertan plots rolling (CMC and twilight's constant search for the secrets of friendship)
now like in other series there is plenty room for exploring random quest themes (going to a foran land eta) (in star trek there where LOADS of "captain we found ANOTHER space anomaly/diplomatic crisis" eta)
they must be careful not to string it out too much or it will get stale (i am none the less all for exploring "freindshiping" (bring on a freindship ep about AJ and Fluttershy!)) foe instance when they start to over focus on background characters (one where no mare 6 appear or secondary characters appear) we are in trouble.
theory in short about 6 before airing a new series OR MLP FIM "next gen" (same characters but now older and focusing on the grown up CMC and other new characters)
i am not confident it will do well beyond S8 (i would love to be proved wrong).
I said 7. It may be corny to say, but 7 has ALWAYS been my lcky number.
IF I were to be logical about it though, given Lauren's track record with successful Toons (REMEMBER, though, she isn't WORKING on the show anymore, so ANTHING could be possible! )I would go with 6, as well. I'm just hoping that we DO get that many before the show's run is over!
I believe it could go on for 7 seasons, that the usually number for most seasons, they will have to pass the big 100 first. Also they may start looking to the fandom for ideas to help them grow or even launch some sort of contest for a fans pony to be on the show
No more than four. Six at the absolute most. At the current rate they're going, I have to wonder if they can come up with more than another season's worth of original content before the entire show becomes -nothing- but pandering to the fans.
i only said 4 seasons sadly... ive noticed lots of people leaving the fandom, and i can sort of see why, season three thus far isnt as good as i was hoping, but that might just be because i kept running into episodes about ponies i dont care much for and im sort of hoping the show will end with a low number of seasons, what ive noticed is with shows that end with a few seasons tend to be much better compared to shows that go on for far too long. for obvious reasons it gets stale and boring to watch and i get tired of watching virtually the same episode for every series with just different characters. the show shall end with the CMC getting there cuties, and then they should make a spin off when they are adult ponies and start allll over again
It's all a matter of principal. It's up too the fans in a way, the reasons tv show creators make more seasons of a show depends on popularity of the show, in this case, how many views it gets. It's like YouTube, in a way. So I'd say the show will at least 6 or 7 seasons. Depending on the story line for future episodes. Can't wait for season 4 though.
As much as I would love tons of seasons, I guess it will end around season 5 or 6. It would all depend on the profit that Hasbro is making of it, because in the end it doesn't even matteeeeer, this is business for them.
Besides, I would prefer if they would end the show before they start to mess up with the characters or try too hard to make jokes or any other new stuff.
I say it honestly depends. If they get into the swing of things and they really make things good, while keeping the story up nicely, then I say it could last for who knows how long... But if they start focusing TOO much on the fans, or if they start trying TOO hard to sell toys, or if they distort character personalities by accident, I think things would start to drop and it may last for about 5 or 6 seasons. Who knows...
I'm picking "More than 10" though, because that's what I'm hoping for. :3
I'll be sad to see MLP end, but it would be better to have it end than have the show lose steam and just become a shadow of its former self. I mean, the Crystal Heart arc disappointed me compared to the Elements of Harmony/Royal Wedding arcs. I guess Twi can only find so many ways to save Equestria...
I think we'll be looking at 5, maybe 6 seasons in total, but only in case the brony phenomenon continues to grow. From a marketing perspective it would be stupid for Hasbro not to continue, since the majority of the show's fans probably have a little more disposable income than the audience the show was originally intended for.
They'll either stretch it as much as possible, or cut it short at four seasons. But then again, maybe they'll start it again after cutting it short in those three(?) years they'll have to make another episode to keep it copy righted or what ever~
It really does depend on how long this whole weird brony fanbase lasts. Unlike most shows like the Simpsons which has been around for eternity and people just accept the stale, mediocre writing. I feel like this show pretty much HAS to maintain its appeal in order to stay alive. Do I think it will last 10 seasons? Maybe. I'm definitely not saying its out of the question. I just wanna see the whole Discord thing resolved before the end. After that I really don't care what happens. I never cared about the Mane 6. Mostly just Discord, Chrysalis and Spike. I do kinda wanna see her conflict resolved too. I don't really think they get out great in the deal. I want to find out more about them. Other than that I can only take so much of this goody goody moral shit. Damn this show for having some appealing villains and making it worth it for me to watch any of it.
Yeah, I know. I'm not taking it back though. I still don't care about any of them. I like those bad guys and Spike. I just don't like being bludgeoned over the head with cutesy crap. Unlike alot of people on this site I like things for reasons other than "it's cute"
