How is everypony doing today!

This is the announcement of the start of a mini contest I'm holding. I know I said I would announce the rule on Monday, and I apologize for not doing so, but I have an excuse! Things came up in the form of a little gosling and I wasn't able to get much of anything done. Pictures and story on that below! Go look how cute it is!

Contest Information and Rules

Theme:
I went up to Ithica this last weekend and fell in love with the trees and waterfalls and greenery. There is a wild beauty that is not found in the bustling city where I live. I want you guys to capture that beauty in your submissions. The theme of this contest is going to be Summer Outdoor Hike. I want to see ponies enjoying the wild, forest-y outdoors. I want to see trees, rivers, lakes, trails, bushes, flowers, bugs, anything that can be associated with what you can find when hiking in a woods on a beautiful summer day. You can include some, all, or more of these elements in your submission.

Judging Criteria:
I will be looking for the submission that best defines the theme of the contest and that show the traits listed below:

Creativity: Let's see how you can make a walk in the woods an interesting pony hike in the woods! Time is short, so let's see how you can make the best of it. This ties in with the next factor.

Artistic Ability: I never expect a Picasso or a van Gogh, and with a mini contest I'm not giving you guys too much time either, but I would like a good amount of effort in your submissions. DO your very best in the time given!

You may include:
• Characters from the show (Celestia; Rainbow Dash etc.)
• Original Characters
• Equestria Girls if the style of the film is followed (for example: skin tones from the film must be used)

You may not include:
• Mature artwork - Keep the art family friendly
• Artwork made from other artist's bases.

How to Enter

During the time that the contest will be running, there will be a new folder that you can submit to. This will be called 'Summer Outdoor Contest Entries'. Submit your entries there and we willl handle the rest. It's a good idea to specify in the title of the deviation, or the description, that it's for this contest, as well.

There is no limit on how many times you can enter, but each user can only win once!

Prize?

The prize is the Vinyl Scratch wallet that was posted in the previous journal. The prize can be delivered to any location across the globe!

Gosling Story aka Why I was late with the contest info



My girlfriend spotted it wandering around on its own and after some observation it was obvious that there were no parent-geese taking care of it. Being the animal lover that she is she took it home and cared for it. I traveled over there and helped out while she had to work. This little gosling was doing much better after being exhausted the first night. I fed it, let it drink water, and made a little pool for it to splash around in. We did manage to get it to an animal center and they said they would take care of it. Little goosey, how I will miss you. <3
